Slender transport track, mounted on poles, has acceptable appearance

The sheer quantity of traffic makes it impractical to set aside adequate space for pedestrians and cyclists. The traffic noise, fumes and intimidation mitigates against full use of the street for commercial and social activities. It is imperative that the volume of car traffic be reduced on amenity grounds. Oppressive structures are not acceptable but slender unobtrusive alternatives such as this podcar guide-way, located 10m high, would be, if 100% grades to stops at ground level are used to provide accessibility and avoid severance of one side of the street from the other. Noise and pollution must be absent. Landscaping and re-allocation of space is then practical.
